Hypermilier.co.uk is still in its early days and we are looking for contributors and staff to help further expand the site and offer more information and news on the world of Hypermiling and related subjects. Experience is not necessary but basic English skills will help and most of all an interest in Hypermiling is a must. Saw your article today, and I have been trying to save fuel. I would love to be
a roving reporter on your site. I drive a BMW 330Ci convertibile. It's a thirsty
petrol motor, and I drive around 360 miles a week (work miles) on the motorway
to and from work. I would be very interested in being a test case and trying out
some of the techniques on your website to see if I can improve my weekly average
comsuption of around 23mpg. I feel I am a good test case, as I have a regular
extra-urban route and already tried some techniques of my own so save fuel
costs.

Hi Andrew

I would be a great idea to see other peoples experiences with
Hypermiling on the site, esp as you have what I would class as a
"thirsty" car to begin with. Drop me an email
(karl@hypermiler.co.uk) and we can discuss it futher.

Hi, saw the article about your website in the sun today. Im a poor student and
so need to save as much as I can on fuel. Been reading your tips and Im going to
try them out. I drive a peugeot 306 phase 1 model and used your MPG calculator
and it says I do 20mpg. Eek not good! I would be interested in contributing to
your website.

Hi

I first heard about this concept on the radio a few months ago and am
pleased to see it taking off in the UK. Rather like your correspondent with the
330 i have set myself somthing of a challenge by attempting to hypermile in a V6
Golf. I passed a personal land mark last week with my first 350 miles+ from fill
up to when the refuel light comes on. I'm working towards a 30mpg average,
currently 29.7 over 4500 miles.

Feel free to use this as an article! I wrote it for the Honda Insight Yahoo!
group, where it first appeared.

I was lucky enough to be able to attend the
British International
Motor Show this year, and thought a brief report might
interest some
group members.

This was the first one to have a greener motoring
pavilion (sponsored
by my insurers, Co-operative Insurance -- thanks, guys!),
and that was
my first port of call. After admiring the Tesla, I headed to the
Honda
stand in that pavilion. They were showing the IMA Civic, but the
Insight
featured heavily in their displays and videos. When I
revealed myself to be an
Insight owner, I was royally welcomed, and
introduced to the rest of the Honda
team with the comment that Insight
owners are "the guys that made all this
possible." Hyperbolic, but
nice to hear. 8-) I was encouraged to keep my
Insight as long as I
could, as a valuable, historic, future classic.

Hi Guys,
I have been "hypermiling" in my own little way for two years.
I drive a BMW 330ci vert and a 03 Laguna SportWagon 1.9dci.
I love to drive the
BM obviously but dont get more than 25mpg in "normal" driving, best I
have seen on a 140 mile run to work is 32mpg, its an auto so some techniques
not possible.

The Laguna is a different story. Its done 180k miles and
suffering a bit. I average 42mpg but have seen it in the high 50's on a single
run, its the town driving that brings this down. I tried a 140 mile journey to
work at 4am once with the side mirrors folded in and no other auxillary power. I
got 55mpg over the course of the journey, I didnt go over 70 and it was a
pleasureable run.

Look forward to maybe contributing or helping out, like
Andrew Makinson I want to reduce my consumption on the 330 vert desperatley.
