With oil has back up to its highest level since October 2008 and a stronger US dollar, UK fuel prices are set to soar to levels not seen since 2008. They already look set to pass the previous high of 119.7p reached in July 2008, when oil was priced at $148 a barrel. This combined with the weaker pound which has pushed wholesale prices up, add the Government's latest hikes on fuel duty, and what you get is the latest high pump prices. Here is a little fact for you. 61% of the cost of fuel to the UK motorist is taken by the government.
