While on our lunch my driver commonly known as "Crispaay" decided that his BMW 320d getting a little low on fuel, usually a quick drop into the local Shell garage puts that right. We thought we might have been in for a short wait but we were amazed to see no que at all! For that matter we were even more amazed to see even less pumps open that people on the forecourt! Shell's own high octain fuel was in plentiful supply but unleaded and diesel were completely sold out. Panic buying and the lack of deliveries had ensured that most customers were simply after a ginsters pastry. Im lucky that I still have a quarter of a tank still in the 306 and using my new found love for hypermiling that should see me to well after all is back to normal. In further news I have now started lift sharing with a work friend. I have estimated that this will save me in the region of £20 per month in fuel and I will also get my very own driver for two weeks of the month. It wont help my MPG but thats a fair saving for both of us and one less car on the road. |
