Hi ,I'm Gordon 30 .2 years ago I bought a new van because I needed something a bit more reliable for work.Ended up getting a Renault Kangoo 1.5dci . Its the first time that i had a mpg display and since it was brand new i got to run it in too. I don't think i had ever driven so slow but the mpg display showed the benifits and i regularly see an average of 65-70mpg. Hypermiling has become second nature now . I have also just bought a Honda fr-v cdti sport for my wife so i'll be looking for her to get close to Karls figures or i'll be taking it off her!!

Hi Gordon and welcome to the forum. Sounds like you are doing great already :D
I also have a Honda FR-V iCDTi Sport. I have had it from new for 4 years and have found that with hypermiling I can regularly beat 50mpg compared to 44mpg for manufacturer's combined figure. It has a decent bit of power and torque so can be tempting to 'boot'
My mpg is definitely improving after the winter and I am getting over 51mpg on this tank so far. Got nearly 52mpg on last tank.
Honda FR-V 2.2 i-CDTi
Summer Figure: 53.0mpg from 44 (+20%) Winter Figure: 48.3 mpg (+10%)
Highest 63.25 (once!) +44%

Hi Gordon,
Welcome to the forum - by the sounds of it you are doing pretty good at hypermiling already!

Hi just had my van serviced on friday needed 2 front tyres too .
Once i got it back i noticed a big drop in my average MPG. I checked the tyres which were slightly low but once inflated i still couldn't get anything near the figures I achieved pre service . Has anyone else noticed this????
Looked about on the Renault forum and someone suggested that after a battery disconnect all the engines sensor need time to adjust to the new oil/filters ect
Gave the van a steady run for about 30 miles then reset the trip , after almost 60 miles i managed 75mpg just going by the Computer which isn't far out compared with what i work out on paper

Tried to upload the picture but I'm getting a message saying Could not upload attachment to ./files/2152_044cd9ba06a3997436c71112e2b08701.

I use Photobucket for any pictures I want to share on here. Like this one, for no reason.
